Choi Seung-hyun, born 4 November 1987 in Seoul, South Korea, entered the music industry as an underground rapper under the stage name Tempo before signing with YG Entertainment. He debuted with BigBang in 2006, contributing rap verses that helped the group achieve commercial success. In 2010, he released the digital single "Turn It Up" and collaborated with G‑Dragon on the subunit album GD & TOP, whose title track "Knock Out" reached number one on the Gaon Digital Chart. The duo’s follow‑up single "High High" peaked at number two. T.O.P continued to release solo singles, including "Doom Dada" in 2013, which entered the top five on Gaon. After a brief acting career, he returned to music, releasing the album Another Dimension in 2026 under TOPSPOT PICTURES. His work has earned multiple awards, including Best New Actor at the 2010 Blue Dragon Film Awards.
