The daughter of renowned US painter Simon Dinnerstein (famous for his masterwork 'The Fulbright Triptych'), Simone Dinnerstein caused a sensation in the world of classical music when her 2007 self-financed debut album when straight into Billboard's Classical Chart at number one during the first week of its release. Originally written by Bach for harpsichord, Dinnerstein's interpretation was an immediate hit with classical music enthusiasts and made the 'Best of 2007' lists in a number of heavyweight publications including 'The New York Times', 'The Los Angeles Times' and 'Time Out'.
Dinnerstein capitalised on the album's success with a recital at the Berlin Philharmonic and has since focused her artistic output by performing numerous other works by Bach. Her debut album for Sony Classical released in 2011 was 'Bach: A Strange Beauty'; repeating the success of her debut it immediately went to number one in Billboard's Traditional Classical Chart. Dinnerstein has subsequently widened her recording repertoire to include works by Copeland, Gershwin and Ravel and has even strayed into the world of jazz with an interesting collaboration with Swiss jazz saxophonist Daniel Schnyder titled 'Bach Re-Invented', a compilation of Bach-inspired new material juxtaposed with original Bach scores.
