Biography

Born Maria Carolina Martinez Deslandes on 27th August 1991 in Lisbon, Portugal, the Portuguese singer and songwriter known professionally as Caroline Deslandes first came to national prominence after finishing third place in the final of the fourth season of Ídolos Portugal (2010). She released her self-titled debut album two years later and went to number 21 in Portugal, reaching number 16 with the follow-up Blossom in 2016. Issued in 2017, a single from her third album Casa (2018) soared all the way to number nine on the Portuguese Singles Chart and was accompanied by a viral video. The success of the song helped to propel the LP to number one in Portugal and paved the way for a spot Festival da Canção 2021 – Portugal's national competition to choose the Portuguese entry for the Eurovision Song Contest – with the song "Por um triz".
