Gather 'round, and we'll tell ye a tale of The Jolly Rogers - born when the Earth was still coolin' and the continents had not yet reached their places that we find so familiar today. Meteorites and asteroids pummeled the surface of this hot planet, and giant dinosaurs ruled the land. You know, back in 1991. That's right, friends! In 1991 The Jolly Rogers got their start, and they've been going strong ever since. Born screaming into the world BEFORE pirates were cool, The Jolly Rogers started presenting their unique brand of music and comedy that set them apart. Pirate-themed maritime music is their bailiwick (See how old-timey they are? They just used BAILIWICK!), meaning shanties along with sea, drinking and bawdy songs all mixed up in a piratey package. Did someone say "package?" Sure did - and that brings us to the fact that The Jolly Rogers' humor definitely lies in the realm of PG-13. Innuendo and suggestion are the order of the day...that's way more fun than just comin' out and sayin' it. And a little smarter, too. ;) The Jolly Rogers have performed around the United States and have even travelled internationally, having had the incredible honor and pleasure of being invited to perform at the Shanties Festival in Krakow, Poland! They have 10 studio-recorded albums to their name, much of which feature all-original music. So take a break from all the over-played mainstream stuff and take a listen. You'll be glad you did.
