A New Zealand singer of Syrian origin, Nouri was born in Damascus on February 10, 1993. Real name Vivian Nouri, she was born in a refugee camp after the bombing of her family's home in Kurdistan, and arrived in New Zealand at the age of three. Gifted with great vocal potential, she was noticed at school and entered singing competitions. In 2009, she won the Five Minutes of Fame competition in Albany and was invited to perform in front of the New Zealand Prime Minister. Her professional debut came in 2017 with an appearance on the soundtrack of the film Daddy's Home 2, before the recording of the first hit "Where Do We Go from Here", ranked #1 on the New Zealand Hot 20 charts in 2018. Several other singles followed, including "Favourite Goodbye" (2019), "Miss All Your Jokes" (2020) and "Do You Mind?", which reached No. 19. The singer, who tackles contemporary R&B as much as folk on the Handle with Care EP (2022), also knows how to make her style more classic with the cover of "Can't Help Falling in Love" or, in 2024, the track "Change in Your Name".
