Vendredi is a duo composed of two artists : Guillaume and Emil-Jan. Coming from France and the Netherlands respectively, where they pursued their passion for music, they met in Geneva in 2018 and experienced their first breakthrough. They gained a reputation by performing at palaces, either for Swiss watchmakers or for wine and spirits brands. Why the name Vendredi? On the one hand, it is undoubtedly the best day of the week. On the other, it represents complete freedom, which is dear to the duo.
Passionate about deep house, they composed their first tracks inspired by Chicago House, the deep house of their Scandinavian friends, and the London refined style.
September 2018 was the month everything started: each Friday, a new track was proposed to celebrate Venus, the Goddess of love and seduction.
Señora, their first track with Zwette who is known for his remix of Another Love of Tom Odell, was realised on the London-based label Soundplate.
On the stage, they switch things up between the bass, the synthesizer, the guitar, the drums and the saxophone, with sets that fuse different styles. They explore a different universe, but they have a unique identity, a signature, a central thread – perhaps one might call this the French touch. Or perhaps even Vendredi’s touch.
