The Slackers, an American ska band formed in Manhattan, New York, in 1991, are known for their eclectic sound blending ska, rocksteady, reggae, dub, soul, garage rock, and jazz. Their breakthrough came with the release of Redlight (1997), which peaked at Number seven on Billboard editor Carrie Bell's "The Year in Music (1997)" list. The Slackers signed with Hellcat Records and have since released numerous albums, including Don’t Let the Sunlight Fool Ya (2022), which reached number one on the Billboard Reggae Charts. The band has toured extensively across North and South America, Europe, and elsewhere.
