Jack Antonoff, better known as the lead singer and guitarist in indie rock band Fun, decided to branch out in 2014 and started a new project he called Bleachers. While he was on tour with Fun, Antonoff started writing music inspired by the 1980s and '90s films of John Hughes including 'The Breakfast Club', 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' and 'Uncle Buck'. The music in these films appealed to Antonoff's creative side and produced Bleachers' debut single 'I Wanna Get Better'. The single topped the Billboard Alternative Songs and Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles Charts. Their debut album 'Strange Desire' released in 2014 to critical acclaim and Bleachers set out on tour. 'Terrible Thrills, Vol. 2' followed in 2015 promoted as a sequel album to 'Strange Desire'. Straight back into the studio, 'Gone Now', their third album, was released in 2017.
