Macross 82-99

Macross 82-99 is a Mexican electronic music producer and DJ from Mexico City His breakthrough came with Neo Tokyo and Sailorwave, influential works in future funk, a subgenre of vaporwave blending sample-based production with French house and dance music influences. Macross 82-99's music combines plunderphonics, disco, jazz fusion, house, hip hop, and city pop, often featuring elements from video games, Japanese pop culture, and 1980s and 1990s anime. In 2017, he signed with Neoncity Records, which released several of his albums on cassette, vinyl, and CD. His track "Fun Tonight", a remix of Armenta's 1983 record "I Wanna Be With You", achieved over 20 million plays on streaming platforms. As part of the music collective Sailor Team, Macross 82-99 has also toured across Asia and North America.
