Lucero

Not to be confused with Mexican singer-songwriter Lucero, the Memphis-based alternative country and rock band Lucero (Spanish for "bright star") have earned a reputation as one of the hardest working musical outfits in America with constant touring and a series of well-received recordings. Legends in their home town, they formed in the Tennessee city in 1998 by singer and guitarist Ben Nichols, drummer Roy Berry, bassist John C. Stubblefield and guitarist Brian Venable. Keyboard player Rick Steff joined in 2006 and they have featured several other musicians over the last 20 years. They made their recording debut with an eponymous album in 2001 followed by 'Tennessee' (2002) and 'That Much Further West' (2003).

'Nobody's Darlings' (2005) went to number 39 on Billboard's Independent Albums Chart, 'Rebels, Rogues & Sworn Brothers' (2006) reached number 20, 'Women & Work' (2012) peaked at number eight and concert release 'Live from Atlanta' (2014) went to number 15. 'All a Man Should Do' (2015) reached number eleven on the Alternative Chart, number 13 on the Independent Chart and number 17 on the Rock Chart. A nationwide American tour was planned for most of 2018.
