Biography

Lena Meyer-Landrut, who professionally uses only her first name, is a German pop singer-songwriter whose performance of 'Satellite' won the Eurovision Song Contest for Germany in 2010. The recording became a hit across Europe and sparked a successful recording and performance career.

Born in Hanover, she studied dance as a child and made appearances on German television. Her performance on the talent show 'Our Star for Oslo' led to her representing Germany at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in Norway. She released her debut album, 'My Cassette Player', later that year and in 2011 'Good News' topped the German Albums Chart.

Her 2012 release 'Stardust' went to number two on the German Albums Chart and the title track reached number two on the German Songs Chart. The single 'Si Ya No Tengo Tu Corazon' with Alejandro Sanz peaked at number 22 on Billboard's Latin Pop Songs Chart in 2005 and her 2015 release 'Crystal Sky' went to number two on the German Albums Chart. She has toured internationally and earned nominations in Germany's annual Echo Awards. She has been a judge and coach on 'The Voice Kids' talent show and voiced the role of Jane in the 2014 German release of the feature film 'Tarzan 3D'. In April 2019 she released her fifth studio album 'Only Love, L', which included the singles 'Thank You', 'Don't Lie to Me' and 'Sex in the Morning'.
