Freak Power was a band founded in England in 1993, consisting of bassist Norman Cook (later known as Fatboy Slim), vocalist and trombonist Ashley Slater, and backing vocalist Jesse Graham. The group's music blended acid jazz, funk, soul, and trip hop elements. Their debut single "Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out" gained minor chart success on the UK Singles Chart in 1993. The track later saw renewed interest after its inclusion in a 1995 Levi's jeans television advert directed by Baillie Walsh. Freak Power released their first album Drive-Thru Booty in April 1994, featuring the hit singles "Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out" and "Rush". The band's second album, More of Everything for Everybody, was released in June 1996. Notable tracks from this period include "Song #6", which appeared in the 2004 movie Code 46. Despite their relatively short lifespan and limited discography, Freak Power left a notable mark on the acid jazz scene of the 1990s with their unique blend of genres and memorable tracks.
