The Beginning of the End was a funk group from Nassau, Bahamas, formed in 1969 by three brothers: Frank Munnings on drums, Raphael "Ray" Munnings on organ, and Roy Munnings on guitar. The band also included Fred Henfield on bass and Livingston Colebrook on guitar, with additional support from the Funky Nassau Horns. The group's breakthrough came with their debut album Funky Nassau, released in 1971 on Alston Records, a subsidiary of Atlantic Records. The title track "Funky Nassau" became a significant hit, peaking at Number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and Number 7 on the Billboard R&B chart in the U.S., as well as reaching Number 31 on the UK Singles Chart in March 1974. This success marked a notable achievement for a Bahamian group, highlighting the international appeal of their unique blend of funk and Caribbean influences. Their second self-titled album, Beginning of the End, arrived in 1976, and they ceased activities after that.
