Rooster was an English rock band from Eastbourne, East Sussex, formed in late 2003. The group consisted of Nick Atkinson on lead vocals, Luke Potashnick on guitar, Ben Smyth on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Dave Neale on drums. After the disbandment of Atkinson's previous band, 50.Grind, he and childhood friend Potashnick began writing songs together, eventually forming Rooster. The band signed with Sony BMG sub-label Brightside Recordings and released their debut single "Come Get Some" in October 2004, which reached number 7 on the UK Singles Chart. Their self-titled debut album Rooster was released in January 2005, peaking at number 3 on the UK Albums Chart and selling over 500,000 copies worldwide. The album spawned notable singles such as "Staring at the Sun", "You're So Right for Me" and "Deep and Meaningless". Rooster's second album Circles and Satellites was released in October 2006, preceded by the single "Home". Despite touring extensively to promote the album, it failed to replicate the success of their debut. In 2007, Rooster announced their breakup via early social media platforms. Following the disbandment, Atkinson and Potashnick pursued various musical projects, including collaborations with other artists.
