5ive, an American instrumental band from Boston, Massachusetts, was formed in 2000 by Ben Carr and Charlie Harrold. The duo released their self-titled debut album 5ive on Tortuga Recordings in 2001, which featured Jeff Caxide (Isis) on bass. Later that year, they followed up with The Telestic Disfracture, an album that included vocals by Jonah Jenkins (Milligram). In 2003, the band changed their name to '5ive's Continuum Research Project' and released The Hemophiliac Dream EP. They reverted to 5ive in 2006 and released Versus, an EP that included a remix by Justin Broadrick (Godflesh, Jesu). In 2008, they released their third studio album, Hesperus. The band mixes space rock, post-metal, drone, experimental, and sludge elements.
