Biography
Brand Nubian are an American hip-hop act featuring rappers Maxwell Dixon (who goes by the name Grand Puba), Derek Murphy (Sadat X) and Lorenzo Dechalus (Lord Jamar). Their debut album, 'One for All', came out in 1990 followed by 'In God We Trust' (1993), 'Everything Is Everything' (1994), 'Foundation' (1998), 'Fire in the Hole' (2004) and 'Time's Runnin' Out' (2007). Their 1994 track 'Word Is Bond' topped Billboard's Dance Singles Sales Chart and reached number 28 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales Chart. 'Punks Jump Up to Get Beat Down' (1992) went to number 20 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales Chart and 'Don't Let It Go to Your Head' (1998) peaked at number 17. They played the Apollo Theater in New York City in 2019.
