The Precisions, an American doo-wop and soul music group from Detroit, formed in 1959. The group consisted of Arthur Ashford, Michael Morgan, Billy Prince, and Denis Gilmore. Their breakthrough came with the single "If This Is Love (I'd Rather Be Lonely)", which reached number 26 on the R&B chart and number 60 on the Billboard pop chart in 1967. The success of this track marked a significant milestone for the group, establishing them as notable figures in the doo-wop genre. Following this success, they released another notable track, "Instant Heartbreak" in March 1968. The Precisions also released several other singles including "I Wanna Tell My Baby" (1964), "Mexican Love Song / You're Sweet" (1965), "Such Misery / A Lover's Plea" (1966), "Why Girl / What I Want" (1966), "A Place / Never Let Her Go" (1968), "Into My Life / Don't Double (With Trouble)" (1968) and "New York City / You're The Best (That Ever Did It)" (1969).
