German pop music Sweetbox were formed in 1995 by executive producer Heiko Schmidt and music producer Roberto "Geo" Rosan. The initial lineup featured Atlanta-based rapper and singer Kimberly Kearney, who released the single "Booyah (Here We Go)" in 1994. This track achieved notable success in Germany and France. Dacia Bridges replaced Kearney and released "Shakalaka", which peaked at number one on the New York City Club Charts for three weeks. Tina Harris joined Sweetbox in 1997, marking a shift to hip-hop and classical-infused pop. Her single "Everything's Gonna Be Alright", sampling Johann Sebastian Bach's Air on the G String, became an international hit, landing top positions in multiple countries. In 1998, Tina Harris was replaced by Jade Villalon, who released several successful albums, including Classified (2000) and Jade (2002), with its chart-topping single "Here on My Own (Lighter Shade of Blue)". Jade Villalon departed in 2007, and Jamie Pineda took over, releasing The Next Generation (2009). Miho Fukuhara became the frontwoman in 2013, co-fronting with LogiQ Pryce. In 2020, Roberto "Geo" Rosan and Jade Villalon returned to Sweetbox, joined by Saint Viv, releasing Da Capo.
