English singer-songwriter Andrew Cushin was born on December 29, 1999, in Newcastle. Self-described as a 'council estate kid,' he picked up the guitar in his teens and quickly developed a unique style of songwriting influenced by the likes of Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Donovan. His debut single, "It's Gonna Get Better," arrived in 2020 and was followed later that year by "Waiting for the Rain," which elicited praise from some of his biggest musical heroes, including The Libertines' Pete Doherty, Paul Weller, and Noel Gallagher, who produced and played guitar on his next single, 2021's "Where's My Family Gone." After signing with Pete Doherty's Strap Originals label, the Geordie singer-songwriter continued to showcase his talent on his first EP You Don't Belong (2022) and later entered the studio to begin working on his highly-anticipated studio debut. Preceded by singles such as "4.5%," "It's Coming Round," "Wor Flags," and "Just Like You'd Want Me To," his first full-length album Waiting for the Rain hit the shelves in late September 2023, peaking at number 69 on the Official UK Albums Chart.
