Thomas Fersen is a French singer-songwriter whose poetic lyrical style has fuelled a slow build to widespread mainstream success in French-speaking countries. Born in Paris in 1963, Fersen's first major contact with the music world was as part of the punk scene. He transitioned into a solo career, however, with his 1993 debut 'Le Bal des Oiseaux'. It was critically well received and the first of a number of acclaimed albums throughout the 1990s and early 2000s that included 'Les Ronds de Carotte' (1995), 'Le Jour du Poisson' (1997), 'Thom4s Fersen' (1999) and, in 2000, the live triple-disc album 'Triplex'.
For all Fersen's critical success up to that point, however, it was 2003's 'Pièce Montée des Grands Jours' that really elevated him to mainstream success. It reached the French top five, even crossing the border to chart in Switzerland and Belgium. Building on its success a live album, 'La Cigale des Grands Jours', was released in 2004 and a compilation, 'Gratte Moi la Puce: Best of de Poche' followed in 2007. Fersen also continued to record new material over the period, releasing the successful studio albums 'Le Pavillon des Fous' and 'Trois Petits Tours' in 2005 and 2008 respectively.
Over the next few years released 'Je Suis au Paradis' in 2011, a collaboration with The Ginger Accident in 2013 and, in 2017, 'Un Coup de Queue de Vache'.
