Amalie Skriver is a singer-songwriter from Copenhagen. In her folk-pop musical universe, the big questions of life are explored through beautiful harmonies and captivating melodies.
With two award wins and two nominations for Best Female Singer/Songwriter in international songwriting competitions, Amalie Skriver has gained recognition for her catchy melodies and compositions.
In 2018, Amalie won the Singer/Songwriter category in the UK Songwriting Contest with "Nothing to Say," and in 2024, she won the Soft Rock category in SongDoor International Songwriting Competition with "Uncertainty." The songs were evaluated by expert music industry judges who have worked closely with artists such as Tony Bennett, *NSYNC, Britney Spears, Jessie McCartney, Backstreet Boys, Sting, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Oasis, and many others.
On stage, she is accompanied by her childhood friend, cellist and backing singer, Rebecca Cecilia Kousgaard; guitarist Anders Tuxen; drummer Mikkel Mouritsen; her husband, guitarist Johnny Hanna; and her father, double-bassist Peter Skriver.
With a vocal style that easily moves into people's hearts, Amalie has been compared several times to singer/songwriters such as Alanis Morissette, Kate Bush, Sarah McLachlan, and Tori Amos.
In 2019, Amalie Skriver achieved a personal milestone when she played a live show with her teenage idol, the Danish singer/songwriter Sara Grabow.
