Biography

Nimrat Khaira is an Indian Punjabi singer, actress, and playback artist known for her work in the Punjabi music and film industry. Born on August 8, 1992, in Mustafapur, Punjab, India, Khaira gained fame and recognition after winning the singing reality show Voice of Punjab Season 3 in 2012. Following her victory, she released her debut single "Ishq Kacheri" in 2016, which became a massive hit and established her as a prominent Punjabi singer, which she quickly followed with "SP De Rank Wargi" (2016) and "Salute Wajde" (2016) as well as “Suit” (featuring Mankirt Aulakh) (2017) which reached number 4 on the UK Asian charts.  Known for her versatile vocal abilities, Nimrat Khaira has continued to deliver numerous popular tracks across a range of genres with "Rohab Rakhdi," (2017) "Designer," (2017) "Brober Boli," (2018) and "Ranihaar" (2018) garnering her a dedicated fan base. In addition to her singing career, Nimrat Khaira made her acting debut in the Punjabi film industry with the movie Lahoriye in 2017, a performance well-received by both audiences and critics alike. Khaira has received several awards and nominations for her contributions to Punjabi music, including Best Female Vocalist at the Brit Asia Awards (2018). In 2022, she released her debut studio album Nimmo which featured singles “Challa” as well as two duets “What Ve” with Diljit Dosanjh and "Ki Karde Je" (with lyricist Arjan Dhillon), and in 2023, performed on the soundtrack to popular Punjabi romantic comedy Jodi, which she also starred in.
