Daniel Marhely FOUNDER
After leaving school at 16 to pursue his passion for the web, Daniel Marhely rapidly made a name for himself on the French startup scene. Reaching the big leagues before the age of 30, it's clear that beneath his laid-back image hides a dedicated entrepreneur who likes to do things his own way.
Daniel's first role was as a developer for the startup Deewap. Then at just 17 years old he was asked to lead the web team at Agrafe.
In 2004 Daniel launched his own project, the dating site Lovelee.com, which kept him busy for the next two years. At the same time he began working on a side-project: a site which would make it easy for people to search for and listen to music.
In 2006 the project took shape as Blogmusik.net. The site soon became popular and generated a lot of buzz but Daniel decided to close it after objections from rights holders.
In order to solve the issue, Daniel approached rights holders directly which lead to an historic agreement being signed in 2007. Blogmusik resurfaced under the name of Deezer and the first legal music streaming site in France was born.
Daniel is the original founder of Deezer, one of the world's leading audio streaming services.
