Biografía

Superstar rapper, Bollywood songmaker, and business entrepreneur Badshah was born Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia on November 19, 1994, in Delhi, India. Abandoning plans to work for the Indian Administrative Service after discovering Punjabi music while he was in college, he first rose to fame as part of the hip-hop act Mafia Mundeer. Badshah went solo in 2012 and scored his breakout hit in 2015 with “DJ Waley Babu”. Future hits such as “Mercy” and “Heartless” would all appear on his 2018 debut album ONE (Original Never Ends). His 2019 single “Paagal” was an online smash, but accusations of duplicity and admissions by Badshah that he paid for online ads led to controversy. During his rise in the music industry, Badshah also many of his tracks be utilized in several Bollywood films, which led him winning the 2017 Best Bollywood Act trophy at the Brit Asia TV Music Awards. By the late 2010s his musical success and his side gigs in fashion and digital content production led to him being named the most financially successful rapper in India. None of this slowed his drive, and in 2021 he was back in the top 10 with “Paani Paani”, a collaboration with Aastha Gill and Jacqueline Fernandez.
