After two albums and various singles devoted to dreamy and aerial piano melodies, Alban Claudin opens his music up to new horizons. With III, the composer edges his short pieces with arrangements for strings and wind instruments, painting finely contrasted landscapes sheltered from the world's chaos. Concise and appealing, minimalistic at times and more densely romantic at others, his composition make up an ambitious third album, the full and complete expression of an artist on the move.
When, in 2021, Alban Claudin named his first opus "It's a LongWay to Happiness", he knew that what mattered as the journey - patiently mapped out since childhood, open to encounters and adventures, winding its way between familiar landscapes and quite hideaways. Until now, these hideaways have taken the form of two albums, unveiling his unique melodic artistry, enhanced by his refined piano technique. And if, in III, the piano is still at the heart of these delicate and organic structures, it often dialogues with other instruments - saxophone, bass clarinet and flute, violin or organ, for which Alban wrote subtle arrangements performed by outstanding musicians.
