Dayvon Daquan Bennett (August 9, 1994), aka King Von, is an American hip-hop performer who began rapping after serving time in prison on weapons charges as a teenager in Chicago. He released a single titled "Crazy Story" in 2018, followed in 2019 by "Crazy Story 2.0" with Lil Durk, "No Flaws," and "Crazy Story Pt. 3," which went to Number 22 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart. The tracks appear on his 2019 mixtape, Grandson Vol. 1, which reached Number 53 on the Billboard 200 and Number 9 on the Independent Albums chart. He featured on Lil Durk's 2019 track "Like That" and Sada Baby's 2020 track "Pressin'." Preceded by the singles "2 A.M." and the YNW Melly-featured "Rolling," his second mixtape Levon James saw the light in early 2020 and hit Number 21 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Shortly after the unveiling of his long-awaited studio album Welcome to O'Block, the MC was involved in a shooting in Atlanta that led to his premature death on November 6, 2020. Released in 2022, What It Means to Be King, his first posthumous album, went to Number 2 on the Billboard 200. The second posthumous album from King Von, Grandson, followed in July 2023 and featured guest spots from the likes of G Herbo, Polo G, Lil Durk, and Tee Grizzley on the single "Heartless."
