Childhood friends Jack Johnson and Jack Gillinsky, who perform as Jack & Jack, are an American musical duo who began as comedy performers on a YouTube channel called 'MotherFalconQuagmire' in 2007. Clips on Vine garnered widespread attention and they released online puzzle games before turning their attention to music in 2013 with a mix of pop and rap. In 2014 their single 'Wild Life' went to number 16 on Billboard's Hot Rap Songs Chart and number 25 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. Three 2014 singles - 'Doing It Right', 'Cold Hearted' and 'Tides' - reached the top 50 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart and 'Like That', featuring Skate, went to number 36 in 2015.
EP 'Calibraska' reached number five on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and number 12 on the Billboard 200 in 2015. The same year, they opened for The Janoskians in a concert at Wembley Arena in London, England, toured America and supported several charitable events. In 2018, they featured on Jonas Blue's track 'Rise', which topped Billboard's Dance Songs Chart, went to number three on the UK Singles Chart, number eight on the Germany Songs Chart and number nine on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Chart. Their 2018 single 'Beg' reached number 29 on Billboard's Mainstream Top 40. They claim to have attracted 25 million cumulative followers across social media platforms and generated more than 190 million YouTube views.
In November 2018, they announced that their debut full-length album 'A Good Friend Is Nice' was to be released in January 2019 featuring the singles 'Rise' and 'No One Compares to You'. They also announced a European tour for 2019.
