Pedro Lamas (Cecebre, 1978)
Piper, saxophonist and composer.
He possesses one of the most awarded curriculums in Galician traditional music, with over 50 awards to his name:
· 2016 Martín Códax Award for "Best Jazz and Improvised Music Project"
· 2016 Opinión da Música de Raíz Award for "Best Album"
· 2016 Opinión da Música de Raíz Award for "Best Artist"
· 2017 Martín Códax Award for "Best Folk Music Project"
· 2021 Martín Códax Award for "Best Traditional Music Project"
· 2021 Martín Códax Award for "Best Project in World Music"
Both as a performer and as an arranger and composer, he collaborates assiduously with prestigious artists and formations such as Kepa Junkera (winner of the Latin Grammy), Josemi Carmona, Carmen París, Berrogüetto, Carlos Núñez, Santiago Auserón, Martirio, Susana Seivane, Orquestra Sinfónica de Galicia, Pedro Guerra, and Luz Casal. He has toured countries such as Switzerland, Cuba, France, Belgium, Argentina, Lithuania, China, Hungary, Portugal, Czech Republic, Peru, Borneo, United Kingdom, and Poland.
He has more than 60 records as an instrumentalist/producer/arranger and/or composer. His musical work for the bagpipe is part of the professional and higher academic curriculum in the teaching of bagpipe and traditional music instruments in the different conservatories of Galicia.
