Jaten Dimsdale (born in Georgia, U.S.A on September 25, 1992), known as Teddy Swims, is an American singer-songwriter. After being introduced to soul music at an early age, he performed on stage as a teenager, and learning piano, ukulele and singing. Starting his career in Atlanta bands, WildHeart and Eris, he soon began posting covers on YouTube, most notably Shania Twain’s “You’re Still the One” which has attracted over 86 million views. After signing with Warner Records, he released his first studio single “Picky” in January 2020, followed by “Broke” in August, and soulful R&B ballad “My Bad” in February 2021, before being named as “Artist You Need to Know” by Rolling Stone Magazine. Swims released an additional two singles in March and April respectively: the upbeat “Till I Change Your Mind” and “Bed On Fire”, which Swims performed on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert (talk show), with both singles appeared on his 2021 EP Unlearning. In October that year, Swims released 6-track Christmas EP A Very Teddy Christmas followed by his EP Tough Love on January 21, 2022 which included popular singles “Simple Things” and “911” , embarking on a UK and Europe tour throughout May and June, 2022 before the emergence of fourth EP Sleep Is Exhausting on November 4. In 2023, Swims made an appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Lose Control," the lead single from 2023 debut album I've Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1).
