Golden Smirk is an ever-changing music collective that is the brainchild of Argentinean producers Pablo Navarrete and Raul Posado. In their current incarnation it features the talents of the MCs Noel Vinson from Australia and David Guppy from the US, plus Brazilian singer Shelly Sony. They specialize in recreating the Golden Era of hip-hop through the strong influence this genre has had on the music from each of their countries.
Golden Smirk's debut album, mastered at none other than Mercury-Mastering, known for its work on the albums of Kanye West, POD and Sam Hart, is a hypnotic blend between guru Jazzamatazz and a flow that instantly brings to mind the work of Digable Planets as well. Golden Smirk is the Golden Age of hip hop in its purest form.
