DJ, composer, arranger and producer, John Thomas is a key figure on the French electronic music scene.
Resident DJ of the legendary Rex Club in Paris for 10 years, he has played in many clubs and festivals around the world with his precise and technical sets.
Recognized as one of the leading producers of the French scene, his first productions were released under a label created especially for him, Logistic Records, and were played worldwide by legends such as Jeff Mills and Kevin Saunderson, bringing him very quickly to collaborate with Robert Hood, Octave One, Aril Brikha, Claude Young or Rolando among others.
Blackstage, his first album, was released in 2001. This 17 tracks, including 6 written with Cabanne, is made of American Techno, Hip-Hop, Funk and minimal House, sprinkled with his Funk and Jazz inspirations. Elected album of the year by Radio Nova, this project establishes its international recognition. Logistic Records signs with Virgin and John continues his momentum, collaborating with John Tejada, Dan Bell, Losoul or Fumiya Tanaka, to name a few.
In 2005, projects in partnership with the Franco-Chinese duo Technasia were born, including Ethique Music, laboratory and playground in which John invites his musical favorites such as Ark, Minimono, The Clover, Tom Ellis or his friend Cabanne.
It is also the year he meets his wife, Bárbara Goes, with whom he will work on various musical projects until 2009, when they decide to go to live in Africa for other adventures, far from the music industry.
10 years later, John and Bárbara want to recreate new musical projects and decide to return to live in Europe. They moved to Lisbon in Portugal and set up a new studio to develop their new label, Ginga Music. From House Music to Funk, Disco, Samba & Hip Hop influences in a new way.
From then on, several creations were born: The Revolution is Coming, EP 3 tracks which unveiled Ginga Music to the world, as well as a remix for the Portuguese producer Jorge Caiado on his label Groovement, as well as an unreleased track for the Post Office 5 compilation.
Finally, John has just produced Deep Hop, an album composed of 10 tracks where he seeks to establish a bridge between House and Hip Hop.
The culmination of a career and an invitation to new collaborations.
