In this hyperbolic day and age, music can become a shelter, or a vessels for intense emotions and events. As Almeeva, Gregory Hoepffner opens a third path : one anchored in strong intimate feelings, that lead to an uncompromising collective catharsis. A very special place, where dance, trance, introspection and physicality form a sensational whirlwind, that can save and soothe your soul.
For many years, Gregory Hoepffner’s body of work has been focused on avoiding the inherent bells and whistles of standard genres. As a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, studio nerd or live performer, member of hardcore, math rock or pop bands (Jean Jean, Sure, Kabbel, G.H.Francis...), he creates audacious electronic records, somewhere between club music and warm experimentations. You can hear the same melodic and confessional approach throughout all his projects, magnified by a great immersive production. HyperLife may be the final outcome of that process. A « hyper » way of considering music making : hyperbolic, hyperactive, hypersensible.
