Michael Yanis is a neoclassical composer based in Los Angeles and a Voting Member of the Recording Academy (GRAMMYs).
Michael Yanis international breakthrough came at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, where his anthem" Mark on the Ice" was performed by French tenor Benjamin Bernheim and Eurovision winner Dima Bilan. In 2023, his "Piano Concerto No. 1" was premiered by pianist Ekaterina Mechetina with the State Symphony Orchestra of St. Petersburg under Sergey Stadler, a performance now preserved in the archives of the State Hermitage Museum. Michael Yanis has also conducted the recording of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 for Olympic champions Meryl Davis and Charlie White (USA).
As a viral composer, his tracks Piano Dreams, Queen, and Blue Notes have been featured in over 500,000 Instagram and TikTok Reels, embraced by international choreographers and tastemakers. His artistic collaborations include Kirov (Mariinsky theater) ballet legend Farukh Ruzimatov (Lord of the Dance).
Michael Yanis is a laureate of the Presidential Scholarship of Boris Yeltsin. He completed postgraduate studies (Orchestra Conducting) at the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts and took part in masterclasses with Gennady Rozhdestvensky at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
