Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds were a soft rock trio from Los Angeles. The band was formed in 1970 by Dan Hamilton (guitar/lead vocal), Joe Frank Carollo (bass/vocal), and Tommy Reynolds (multi-instrumentalist/vocal). All three members had previously played together in The T-Bones, known for their instrumental hit "No Matter What Shape (Your Stomach's In)." Their breakthrough came in 1971 with the release of "Don't Pull Your Love," which peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was awarded a gold record by the RIAA. The band released two more singles, "Annabella" and "Daisy Mae," but their subsequent albums failed to achieve significant chart success. Reynolds left the group in late 1972 and was replaced by keyboardist Alan Dennison. In 1975, Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds secured a deal with Playboy Records and released "Fallin' in Love," which reached Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became their second gold disc. Despite this success, the band disbanded permanently in 1980. Dan Hamilton continued to write and publish songs until his death from Cushing's syndrome on December 23, 1994.
