Makoto Kawamoto, born on January 19, 1974, in Fukui, Japan, is a Japanese singer-songwriter. Growing up, she was exposed to music through her mother's piano playing and later studied ballet, flute, and joined a chorus group. A pivotal moment came during her high school days when she attended a rock festival, inspiring her to form a band after graduating from Jin-ai Women's College. Kawamoto initially worked as a piano teacher but moved to Tokyo at age 21 to pursue her music career. In 1996, Makoto Kawamoto released her debut single "Ai no Sainō" under Sony Music Entertainment Japan. Her subsequent singles included "DNA" and "1/2", the latter of which was tied to the popular anime Rurouni Kenshin. She released her first album, Ai no sainou, in 1996. Despite initial success, Kawamoto faced creative challenges and took a break from releasing new songs after "Blossom" in 2001. In 2003, she became a freelancer and later adopted the stage name Tiger Fake Fur. Under this name, she released her first single "Yagi-ō no Theme" in 2006. Kawamoto continues to perform live, enjoying concerts in Tokyo and her hometown of Fukui.
