Banda Perla De Michoacán

Banda Perla de Michoacán is a Regional Mexican brass band founded on December 1, 1989, in San Ángel Zurumucapio, Ziracuaretiro, Michoacán, under the guidance of Dr. José Guadalupe Madrigal Ruiz; the ensemble grew into an 18-piece lineup and, across the 1990s–2000s, accompanied prominent artists including Verónica Castro, Juan Valentín, Rosenda Bernal, Aida Cuevas, and Lorenzo de Monteclaro on select appearances. The group’s studio work spanned cumbias, rancheras, sones, románticas, instrumentals, and regional Michoacán styles (including pirekuas), yielding a catalog that reached Mexico and U.S. Mexican communities through TV slots (Televisa, Bandamax) and multiple U.S. tours. Signature repertoire included “Soy Tarasco,” “La Culebra,” “Flor de Canela,” “Viva México,” “El Trenecito,” and “Palomas Mensajeras,” many later recirculating on streaming via the album Soy Tarasco (2017) and compilations that also surfaced older cuts from Amor Prohibido (1995). The band continued recording into the 2010s–2020s with releases such as Lo Que Te Queda (2015) and a 2020 full-length distributed by Luna Music/Tango Multimedia, while collaborations extended to live features with vocalist Alejandra Rojas—most notably the viral “Cuatro Meses (En Vivo)”—and other joint singles across streaming platforms. Activity remained visible in 2025 with new singles including “Que nadie sepa mi sufrir” and “El hijo del costaludo,” underscoring a decades-long run rooted in Michoacán’s brass-band tradition and a repertoire often associated with vocalist-composer Lineker Brito.
