Los Rebeldes Del Rock, a pioneering rock and roll group from Mexico City, was founded in 1957. Initially known as Los Reyes del Rock, the band renamed to Los Rebeldes del Rock in 1959 after vocalist Johnny Laboriel and bassist Marco Polo Tena joined. Their breakthrough came with "La hiedra venenosa", considered the first rock and roll song in Spanish broadcast on Mexican radio. The group released several albums under Discos Orfeón, including Los Rebeldes Del Rock Vol.2 (1961) and Corre Sanson, Corre y otros éxitos más (1962). After Johnny Laboriel's departure to pursue a solo career, the band continued with new vocalists. They also collaborated with Angélica María on an album in 1966 before disbanding. The group reunited periodically, notably in the 1970s and later decades. Key members like Américo Tena and Laboriel passed away in 2008 and 2013, respectively.
