The Rootless

Rootless was a Japanese rock band active from 2009 to 2015. Initially formed as The ROOTLESS, the band performed live in Tokyo’s local venues and on the streets before making their major debut.  Their breakthrough came on October 20, 2010, with the release of "One day", which was chosen as the theme song for the anime One Piece. Prior to its official release, the song was made available on RecoChoku on August 8, debuting at No. 3 on the daily ranking. It later secured the No. 3 spot on the Oricon Weekly Chart as well, becoming the band’s most recognized hit. On January 1, 2013, the band announced their departure from LDH and rhythm zone, along with the resignation of bassist Takuya Ihara. Later that year, guitarist Duran also left the group.  In January 2014, they rebranded as Rootless and signed with Being. However, after struggling to maintain momentum, the band officially disbanded on December 28, 2015.  The final lineup consisted of vocalist Shin Nobata and drummer Yusuke Otsubo.
