Helen V. Samuelson, known professionally as Helen St. John, is an American musician and singer born in the United States of America. She began her career with a breakthrough moment when she contributed piano interpretations to multiple films, including "Love Theme from Flashdance" from Flashdance (1983), which earned two Grammy nominations for Best Pop Instrumental Performance and Album of the Year. Her first album as a singer and songwriter, Moment by Moment, was released in 2008. Helen St. John's career highlights include composing music for film soundtracks such as Scarface, Superman III, and Electric Dreams. She has also produced solo albums including Power to the Piano and Take Your Passion.
