Los Muchachos was a Colombian vallenato group built around singer Osnaider Brito and, in different phases, accordionists Gabriel “Chiche” Maestre and Juan José Granados. The project emerged in 1989 with Fascinante and expanded through a steady run of albums that included Una Rosa Para Ti in 1991, Que Nota! in 1992, Los Muchachos 93 in 1993, Mundiales in 1994, Voy a Publicar Estos Amores in 1995, and A Los Pies De La Luna in 1996. Across those years, Los Muchachos became known for romantic and melodic vallenato songs such as “Volver a la Ternura,” “Guardé un Secreto,” “Dicen Que Soy,” “Huellas de un Amor,” “Intentaré Olvidarte,” and “A los Pies de la Luna,” with Brito’s voice remaining the constant thread as the group moved through different accordion partnerships. Chiche Maestre remained part of the group through Que Nota! in 1992, and by 1993 Juan José Granados had taken over as accordionist, marking the next phase of the project. The catalog continued into the second half of the 1990s, and songs such as “Volver a la Ternura” remained the act’s most widely remembered recordings within romantic vallenato.
