Michael Gordon Clifford, born on November 20, 1995, in Quakers Hill, New South Wales, Australia, is a guitarist, songwriter, and singer. He began his musical journey at eleven when he received an acoustic guitar from his parents. In 2011, Michael Gordon Clifford, along with Calum Hood and Luke Hemmings, started posting song covers on YouTube, eventually forming the band 5 Seconds of Summer with Ashton Irwin. The group signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing and released their debut album 5 Seconds of Summer in 2014. With 5 Seconds of Summer, Michael Gordon Clifford has released five studio albums: Sounds Good Feels Good, Youngblood, Calm, and 5SOS5. In March 2025, Michael Gordon Clifford announced his first solo single "Cool" and signed with Hopeless Records. His debut solo album, Sidequest, was released on July 25, 2025.
