Formed in 2008 in Binissalem by Adrià Arbona Orero, Papá Topo is a Spanish indie pop group known for their playful, eclectic sound that spans from bubblegum pop and synth-pop to punk, folk, and bolero. Initially gaining attention with the viral hit “Oso Panda,” produced and remixed by Guille Milkyway, the group debuted with the 2010 single on Elefant Records, followed by the EP La Chica Vampira in 2011 and the mini-LP Rotación y translación in 2012. After a lineup change in 2012, with the addition of Oscar Huerta, Júlia Fandos, and Sònia Montoya, the group expanded its sonic palette and released their first full-length album Ópalo Negro in 2016, blending Catalan folk, disco, classical, and Spanish new wave across 14 tracks, including standout songs like “Sangre en los zapatos (mi amor)” and “Chico de Plutón.” Known for their theatrical aesthetics and queer-inclusive lyrics, Papá Topo has performed widely across Spain, the UK, the US, and Latin America, cultivating a cult following within the Spanish indie scene. In 2025, the band released their second full-length album Presto y con Toda la Fuerza, which featured the singles "Ven a mis brazos" and "Me Voy a Desenamorar de Ti," featuring Miranda! singer Juliana Gattas.
