Grupo Límite, the Monterrey, Nuevo León band fronted through its classic era by Alicia Villarreal, emerged in the mid-1990s as one of the defining acts in the norteño-tejano boom. They broke through with Por Puro Amor in 1995, a million-selling debut powered by songs such as “Te Aprovechas,” “Vete,” “Quiero,” and “Yo Sin Tu Amor,” then quickly followed with Partiéndome el Alma in 1996 and Sentimientos in 1997, which added signature tracks including “Hasta Mañana” and “Sentimientos.” Their late-1990s and early-2000s run continued with releases such as De Corazón al Corazón, live recordings, and Por Encima de Todo, which won the Latin Grammy for Best Grupero Album in 2001, before Soy Así arrived in 2002 with “Ay! Papacito.” After Villarreal’s departure to launch her solo career, the group continued under the Límite/LMT banner and later returned with new studio material including El Gran Regreso in 2015, led by songs such as “Tu Entretenimiento,” “Te Quiero Mucho,” and “Comámonos a Besos.” In 2025, Grupo Límite marked the 30th anniversary of its debut with Por Puro Amor (Remasterizado 2025, 30 Aniversario) and re-emerged with a female-fronted lineup led by singers Emily González and Daiana Villalba.
