Hypnogaja

Hypnogaja, an American rock band founded in 2000 by vocalist Jason Arnold (known professionally as ShyBoy) and keyboardist Mark Nubar. The group began as an electronic studio project and released their debut album, Lust, through Drama! Music. Hypnogaja signed with PEN Music Group and started writing music for TV shows and video games. In 2004, they released the Kill Switch and toured the U.S., opening for artists like 311 and Shinedown. Their critically acclaimed LP Below Sunset (2005) featured a cover of "Here Comes the Rain Again" by Eurythmics. Notable releases included Truth Decay (2011), which received high praise from Outburn magazine. That year, the group won two awards at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. Hypnogaja released several singles between 2020 and 2025, including "Lovesick" and "Dead of Winter". ShyBoy and Nubar founded The Spaceman Agency label in 2012, which has released numerous recordings by ShyBoy. Shyboy later went on to be named Best Solo Artist in the 10th Annual LA Weekly Best of LA Readers' Choice Awards and has performed with Flo Rida, Meiko, and Amanda Palmer.
