Hang Massive, a UK musical duo composed of Danny Cudd and Markus Johansson (also known as Markus Offbeat), formed in 2010. The two musicians met in India and began playing the hang, an instrument they would use to create their signature ambient and new age sound. Their first album, Beats for Your Feet, was released in 2012, marking a significant breakthrough for the duo. Hang Massive gained global recognition through extensive touring, performing in over twenty countries. They adopted a unique business model relying on fan donations and free access to their music, supplemented by merchandise sales. Their YouTube channel amassed over 128 million views and 600,000 subscribers by September 2024. Notable releases include Distant Light (2016) and Luminous Emptiness (2018).
