División Minúscula is a Mexican alternative rock band formed in 1996 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, consisting of Javier Blake (vocals, guitar), Ricci Pérez (guitar), Alejandro Luque (bass), and Kiko Blake (drums). They signed with Toy Hernandez’s Sones del Mexside label in the early 2000s and released their debut album, Extrañando Casa, in 2001. After a hiatus, they reunited and released their second album, Defecto Perfecto, in 2006, which was certified Gold by AMPROFON in 2007. That same year, División Minúscula earned nominations for Promising Artist and Best Alternative Act at the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America. The band followed with the album Sirenas in 2008, División in 2012, and the album Sed later that year. In 2016, they released the EP Secretos, continuing their presence in the alternative rock scene.
