Bibi Gaytan

Silvia "Bibi" Gaytán Barragán is a Mexican singer and actress born on January 27, 1972, in Villahermosa, Tabasco. She began her career in 1989 when she joined the musical group Timbiriche, replacing Alix Bauer. Gaytán toured for the albums Timbiriche VIII & IX and Timbiriche X. In 1991, she was cast in the television series Alcanzar una estrella II and released the song “Tan sólo una mujer”, written by Ricardo Arjona. Gaytán left Timbiriche in May 1991 and starred in the 1992 film Más que alcanzar una estrella. That September, she released her debut solo album, Bibi Gaytán, featuring the singles “Y se marcha diciendo perdón” and “No me importa”. In 1993, she appeared in the series Dos mujeres, un camino. Gaytán released the album Manzana verde in 1994, though she halted promotion due to her pregnancy. In 2013, she served as a judge for the program México baila.
