Rio

Rio is a Peruvian new wave band formed in 1984 in Pueblo Libre, Lima by Arturo "Pocho" Prieto and brothers José "Chachi" and Lucio "Cucho" Galarza. Initially known as Royal International Orchest, they began their career performing covers before transitioning to original Spanish-language songs. Their debut single "Son Colegialas" was released in 1984 and the band gained significant traction with their second single "Televidente" (1985), which led to extensive touring across Lima and beyond. In 1986, Rio released their first album Lo Peor de Todo, followed by Donde Vamos a Parar in 1988. Their enduring career spanned over four decades and made them one of the longest-running active bands in Peruvian music history.
