Los Súper Caracoles

Known for their flamboyant costumes and face paint—often compared to KISS, Los Súper Caracoles are a Veracruz-born tropical/cumbia band whose origins trace to Rinconada, where brothers Juan Carlos ("Pluma Blanca"), Clemente ("Caballo Loco"), Tomás ("Drácula"), and Roberto Contreras Pérez ("La Sombra") formed the group in 1975 before relocating to Xalapa, building a reputation on marathon baile shows and a mischievous stage image. Moving into the streaming era, the band issued the studio album Acelerados y Apasionados in 2015 and refreshed their catalog with new singles including “La Traigo Bien Parada” (2019), “El de la Tanguita Roja” (2019), and “Como Baila Mi Gorda” (2020), followed by “El Viejo” (2022). They continued to compile and re-present their repertoire on digital platforms—Éxitos los Súper Caracoles (2020) and subsequent anthologies—while collaborating on tracks like “Dime Como Te Olvido” with Grupo Versax and “90-60-90” with Juanito y su Grupo Innovación. A new studio set, Mi Pajarito, arrived on February 5, 2024 via SAPS Records, extending their mix of romantic cumbia and comic double-entendre into the present, alongside fresh compilations such as La Fiesta Continúa Con los Súper Caracoles (2024) and Amaneciendo Con los Súper Caracoles (2025).
