Juliana Romina Gattas Salinas, born on August 1, 1978, in Buenos Aires, is an Argentine singer and actress best known as a founding member and one of the lead vocalists of the electro-pop band Miranda! since 2001. From a young age, she was drawn to Hollywood divas and classic films, with a particular admiration for Federico Fellini. Her musical inspirations include Annie Lennox of Eurythmics and Boy George. At fifteen, Juliana Gattas began formal singing studies while also exploring theater, ceramics, and painting. In the late 1990s, she performed as a jazz singer in bars and small dance venues. A pivotal moment in her career occurred during a jazz concert when she met Alejandro Sergi. Sharing similar musical tastes and goals, they formed the duo Lirio, blending electronic arrangements with jazz vocals. Their original song "Imán" received positive audience reactions, leading to the formation of Miranda! on July 27, 2001, alongside guitarist Leandro "Lolo" Fuentes and programmer Bruno de Vincenti. The band debuted that same month and released their first album, Es mentira, in November 2002. Throughout her tenure with Miranda!, Juliana Gattas has contributed to several albums, including Sin restricciones (2004), El disco de tu corazón (2007), and Magistral (2011), the latter featuring three tracks co-written with Sergi and produced by Cachorro López. In 2012, she served as a judge on La Voz Argentina, and in 2015, on Elegidos (La música en tus manos). In 2024, Gattas released her solo album Maquillada en la cama, collaborating with Chilean musician Alex Anwandter, and made her cinematic debut as Elisa in the film "Los domingos mueren más personas," directed by Iair Said.
